Lára Jóhanna Jónsdóttir
is an Icelandic actress, raised in England. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in acting from The Icelandic Academy of the Arts in 2010.
Theatre
Since graduating, Lára has been a part of numerous productions at both Reykjavik City Theatre and The National Theatre of Iceland, where she is now a resident. She played Dorothy in the hit musical “The Wizard of Oz” shortly after graduation. Other theatre roles include Marion in Vesturports powerful and physically demanding production of "The Heart of Robin Hood", Catherine in Stefan Metz's staging of "A View from the Bridge" and Stella in the National Theatre's staging of "A Streetcar Named Desire”. Lára is now playing the female lead in the comedy tourist attraction "Icelandic Sagas - The Greatest Hits”.
TV and Film
Lára plays Stella in "Let Me Fall" by Baldvin Z, Lovísa in "Trapped 2", Jóhanna in "Flateyjargátan", Agnes in "Under the Tree" by Hafsteinn Gunnar Sigurðsson, Magnea in "World's End" by Ragnar Bragason, Lára María in "Rokland" by Marteinn Thorsson and a small role on the Netflix production, "Sense 8". Lára has also done voice-work for TV, movies and apps.
Nominations
Lára was nominated for The Icelandic Theatre Award: Gríman for her role as Stella in "A Streetcar Named Desire".
