Ólafur S.K. Þorvaldz
was born in Reykjavík, Iceland.
He started his first steps in theatre and film in high school and then went straight to drama school after graduation. He trained at the Arts Educational School of Acting in London, graduating in 2003. Whilst in drama school he started the production company, Children of Loki, who still handle all of his productions.
Straight after drama school Ólafur started working as an actor and director. Often staging his own writings in both England and Scotland, performing one of his plays at the Gateway theatre in Edinburgh.
Ólafur worked as an actor in the UK for 2 years after graduation, before returning to his native Iceland and going into two productions at the city theatre in Reykjavík. Ólafur quickly started going into directing and writing full force and he has directed and written over a dozen plays. He´s worked within the industry in his homeland as an actor, voice over artist, writer and director.
Ólafur is the voice of Simon from Alvin and the Chipmunks, he‘s the voice of Yoghi bear, Kronk from Emperor‘s new school, amongst dozens of others.
As an actor he‘s starred as Iago in Shakespeare‘s Othelloat the National Operah house (Theatre), Barry from Leaves of Glass (Theatre), Stebbi in Small mountain (feature film), amongst others.
Olafur was the writer of series 3 and 4 of the world renowned children's TV series, LazyTown, amongst other writing credits.
